Feathers:
The whole intention of the installation is for people to feel inspired to self-reflect. As a result of that, to ideally share their discovery in writing and leave to become part of the piece. During Flight’s debut, over 1,000 feathers were left inside the birdhouse. The feathers inside made the piece sacred. Thank you to all who took the time to participate. What you wrote is amazing. {Coming soon to a book near you!}
The installation invited people to take the time to reflect & share in writing a new Belief they have... or want to have. Inspiring them are the following:
A Birdcage {climbable}:
Represents limiting beliefs. Gotta go in to find out. Or in this case, you can go on… and up… and over! The birdcage will be approximately 13’ tall with a diameter just over 8’ {click on the “Sacred Geometry” link above to see some sacred geometry being used to determine sizes}.
A Birdhouse {enterable}:
Represents beliefs that serve us. Walls of the birdhouse will be appx.
6’ x 10’ {more sacred geometry}. Interior will be decorated with oriental carpets & pillows. This is where people answer the question in writing upon feather-shaped pieces of paper and leave inside the birdhouse via wooden clothing pins.
3 Plaster Casts {winged}:
Representing the Beginning, Middle, and Last phases of our lives are The Child, The Adult, and The Elder. Collectively, they represent 1} the natural ability we have to “fly”, 2} our ability to make choices consciously & intentionally to get our proverbial wings, as well as be a mentor and teacher to help inspire others to get theirs, and 3} the wisdom & flow & joy & love that can come over time through making healthy, optimistic, self-serving loving choices around what it is we Believe.
