The intention is to creatively inspire people to take the time to reflect & share in writing a new belief they have... or want to have. Aiming to inspire them will be the following components:
1 Birdcage {climbable}:
Represents limiting beliefs. Gotta go in to find out. Or in this case, you can go on… and up… and over! The birdcage will be approximately 13’ tall with a diameter just over 8’ {click on the link above and to the right to see some sacred geometry being used to determine sizes}.
1 Birdhouse {enterable}:
Represents beliefs that serve us. Walls of the birdhouse will be appx. 6’ x 10’. Interior will be decorated with oriental carpets & pillows. Intended as the place where people can answer the question in writing and leave inside the birdhouse on the walls via small wooden clothing pins.
3 Plaster Casts {winged}:
Representing the beginning, middle, and last phases of our lives via casting a young boy, a middle-aged adult, and an elderly woman. Each will have a pair of wings. Collectively, they represent 1} the natural ability we have to “fly” as a function of our beliefs, 2} our ability to make choices for ourselves in order to “fly”, 3} our ability to teach others and given them their “wings”, and 4} the wisdom & flow & joy & love that can come over time from making healthy, optimistic, self-serving choices around what it is we choose to Believe.
Double-sided Mirror:
Hanging inside the center of the birdcage is a double-sided mirror, one side a regular mirror, the other side a funhouse mirror. Represents the process of self-inquiry through self-reflection. The funhouse mirror represents being distorted vis-a-vis beliefs that are false. The normal mirror side represents the intention to seek the truth. Also represents the process of going “in” to one’s Beliefs and choosing them consciously & intentionally.
1 Audio Loop {playing 24/7 via solar power}:
Comprised by people answering the question along with ambient, sounds of nature during which people may write their response.
2,012 Feathers:
A nod to the upcoming year 2012 and of the transformative invitation being offered at this time, the visitor is invited to answer the question {i.e. what is a new belief you have… or want to have?} in writing, using a pencil upon a feather-shaped piece of paper. When they are finished, they are invited to clip their feather to the wall using wooden clothespins. Regarding 2012, tt’s my belief that 2012 is an invitation for greater spirituality and consciousness on a global scale. 2012 is an opportunity for growth. Something this piece is motivated by and is hoping to contribute to.
